    Ingredients

    Chocolate truffles ingredients.
    • Biscuits: I used my favorite biscuits ever – Plazma biscuits (lane biscuits). They have the perfect amount of sweetness, which is not too overpowering.
    • Dark chocolate: I used Lindt dark chocolate with 70% cocoa. This is my favorite chocolate and has the perfect chocolate aroma. Feel free to substitute with a chocolate of your preference, but please note the taste might differ.
    • Butter: I used unsalted butter for this recipe.
    • Milk: I used whole milk for this recipe. Feel free to substitute with a milk of your preference, but as always, the truffle flavor might differ.
    • Walnuts: Walnuts are so versatile and easy to use for any dessert. I used a mix of chopped and shredded walnuts.
    • Granulated sugar: I used regular granulated sugar for this recipe. Since the chocolate has a very dark and deep cocoa flavor, it’s not sweet, and the biscuits themselves are not that sweet as well. We are adding sugar for additional sweetness.
    • Toppings of your choice: I used shredded walnuts, cocoa powder, unsweetened coconut flakes, and chocolate jimmies, but feel free to substitute them with any toppings you prefer.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Expert Tips and Tricks

    • Use high-quality ingredients: Since the ingredient list is short, it’s essential to use high-quality ingredients, especially for the chocolate and the biscuits.
    • Don’t burn the chocolate: When you are melting the butter, milk, and chocolate, it’s crucial to mix often so the chocolate doesn’t burn or get stuck to the bottom of the pot.

    Substitutions and Variations

    • Use different nuts: almonds, peanuts, pistachios, etc.
    • Use different chocolate: I love these chocolate truffles with dark chocolate, but try substituting it with white chocolate instead.
    • Use different toppings: I gave several toppings examples, but feel free to experiment and use other toppings as well, like dried fruit, chocolate shavings, and pieces, dip the truffles into melted chocolate (white or dark), etc.

    How to Serve

I serve them at room temperature but leave them on the counter for an hour before serving if you store them in the fridge.

    Storage

Store them in an air-tight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. You can store them in the fridge for up to a week. But leave them on the counter for an hour before serving.
