This Raspberry Margarita is a bright, bold twist on the classic. Made with homemade raspberry simple syrup, fresh lime and orange juice, and silver tequila, it strikes the perfect balance of sweet and zesty. Served over ice and finished with a fresh garnish, it’s a vibrant cocktail that’s perfect for summer parties, taco night, or cozy evenings on the patio.
Add sugar, water, and raspberries into a medium-sized pot on medium-hight heat.
Simmer for 12 minutes, mixing occasionally. Do not boil the syrup. Lower the heat if needed.
Remove from heat and let cool for at least 15-20 minutes.
Strain the syrup using a fine mesh strainer and a spoon to extract as much as possible.
Let cool completely before storing in an airtight jar or a syrup dispenser. Label it and store it in the fridge for two weeks.
Raspberry Margarita
Make the raspberry simple syrup if you haven’t already, and let it cool completely before using.
Chill your glass: Place a double old-fashioned glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.
Rim the glass with sugar or salt if desired. (Optional)
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, raspberry simple syrup, lime juice, orange juice, and plenty of ice.
Shake vigorously for 5–10 seconds until well chilled.
Double strain into the chilled glass to remove ice shards and seeds.
Garnish with a lime wedge, raspberries, or mint, and serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust Sweetness: Taste before serving and tweak to your preference. Add more raspberry simple syrup for extra sweetness, or a splash of agave if it's too tart.
Rim Options: Both salt and sugar rims work well. Try mixing in citrus zest or freeze-dried raspberry powder for a flavor boost and vibrant look.
Shake Like You Mean It: A strong, 10-second shake properly chills and blends the cocktail, giving it a smooth, balanced finish.
Double Strain for Smoothness: Use a fine mesh sieve with your cocktail strainer to keep seeds and ice shards out of your glass.
Mocktail Twist: Skip the tequila and use sparkling water or lemon-lime soda for a bubbly non-alcoholic version. Want more ideas? Try our full Raspberry Mocktail recipe for a zero-proof option with the same berry flavor.
