These flaky puff pastry turnovers filled with ham and cheese will be everyone's favorite! It's a simple and yummy breakfast or an appetizer, made in 30 minutes.
8slicesof smoked uncured ham(or a combination of smoked ham and turkey breast)
1egg
A pinch of salt and pepper
Sesame seeds to garnish
Instructions
Thaw 2 pastry sheets at room temperature for 40 minutes or until easy to handle.
Preheat the oven to 400 Fahrenheits. Place a parchment paper on a baking pan.
Dust the working surface with the flour and roll out the pastry to be slightly larger than the original size. Cut each pastry sheet into four equal pieces.
Place 1-2 teaspoon of cream cheese on each pastry piece. Then, place 1 slice of smoked ham or turkey breast meat and add shredded mozzarella and quesadilla cheese.
Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg (with a pinch of salt and pepper). Fold the puff pastry squares in half, making triangles. Press the edges of the pastry with the fork. Brush the beaten egg on the tops of turnovers. Make small cuts into each turnover and garnish with sesame seeds.
Bake for 20-22 minutes or until puff pastry is golden and puffed.
Remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. The melted cheese will be very hot. Enjoy!
